Support: search functionality
The t·find system is aimed at helping users
do precise search from a very simple starting point.
-
If you are familiar with boolean search systems: the t·find
engine always does both an AND-query and an OR-query.
The results to the AND-query are always at the top of the list of
search results. Some services separate these two sections with a message.
-
The negation operator exists in t·find:
use a dash (-) before a search term.
-
You cannot use quotes (") to do literal search for
a sequence of words. Instead, multi-word search terms are
automatically recognised by the system.
-
While the presence of structure (separated into "fields"
or metadata elements) in your data (proprietary or web pages
generated from a content management system) is used in the
t·find hitlist ranking system, there is no
fixed syntax for limiting your search to certain fields.
A professional version of t·find exists however
that can make fielded search possible in a fool proof manner.
